About

SHARE4MED brings trusted, real-time coastal data to the people who govern the Mediterranean.
Mediterranean coastlines face growing pressure — from rising sea temperatures to plastic pollution to coastal erosion — yet mayors, governors, and policy makers rarely have direct access to the environmental data they need to act. Information exists, but it is scattered across scientific platforms not built for decision-makers. That’s why SHARE4MED, funded by Interreg NEXT MED, brings together municipalities, institutions, and experts across Italy, Tunisia, and Algeria to build a shared, transparent view of what’s happening along the coast — and what can be done about it.
The dashboard brings together environmental indicators — sea surface temperature, coastal risk, plastic pollution, and more — in one place, alongside tested, replicable solutions like the artificial reef pilot in Oran, Algeria.

Our approach

Collaboration

A sustainable Mediterranean coast is only possible together. SHARE4MED is a growing coalition of municipalities and institutions across Italy, Tunisia and Algeria.

Accessibility

Environmental data shouldn’t require a scientific background to understand. SHARE4MED translates complex indicators into clear, actionable information for local decision-makers.

Reliability

SHARE4MED indicators draw on established open sources — Copernicus, EMODnet, EDITO — curated for accuracy and relevance to coastal governance.

SHARE4MED is funded by Interreg NEXT MED, as part of the European Union’s broader commitment to Mediterranean cooperation.
