With a 2030 target, the EU Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters (Mission Ocean) aims to protect and restore the health of our ocean and waters through research and innovation, citizen engagement and blue investments. Deploying Mission Ocean’s goals on local territories is a real challenge: reaching the critical mass and having an appropriate transition agenda are the two most urgent needs to be solved for Mediterranean municipalities in view of the green transition and climate neutrality.

In June 2023, the Municipality of Genova (Italy) launched the Coalition of Mayors within EU Mission Ocean. The SHARE4MED project aims at consolidating and expanding this framework to EU and non-EU countries.
